Hit harder after just one session.

Learn to attack with more power and consistency in a way that will keep you healthy all season long.

So much more than a volleyball camp.

Physical Assessment & Training

To build something big, you need a strong foundation - which is why we start all our camps with physical assessments for the spine, scapula, and shoulder. This lets us identify mobility limitations, unstable areas, and differences from side to side that can turn into injuries. If we find any limitations, we can improve them during the camp with specific exercises and leave the athletes with a plan to overcome them for good.

Upgrade Your Technique

We break the arm swing down to the most important aspects and make sure every athlete masters the essentials. Then we rebuild the mechanics from the ground up, helping each athlete hit the ball in a more efficient, powerful, and pain-free way through a variety of attacking and spin-serving drills.

One Month of Arm Swing Academy Workouts

Athletes feel a change in just the one session - but this only scrapes the surface of where they can get to. After the camp, everyone gets access to workout programming from our online Arm Swing Academy so they can develop more mobility, strength and power in a way that translates directly into their attacking velocity and longevity.

The power of video analysis.

See slow motion breakdowns of your attacking mechanics to identify exactly where to find the biggest improvements - then use video as you train to track your improvements.

“AWA's arm swing work with our TEAM BC program this past year was amazing.  I have long been a proponent of arm swing work, and AWA took it to a whole other level, teaching our athletes how to build a healthy and powerful arm swing from the ground up.  I would highly recommend AWA's arm swing camp as it will not only put you on the path to hitting with more velocity, but also give you a foundation to create healthy patterns that will allow you to play the sport we all love for longer!”

Upcoming Camps

What exactly do we cover in the camps?

  • INTRODUCTION:

    • Introduction to the archetype of the arm swing - video examples of top attackers from around the world

    • What we’ve learned from top athletes all around the world in multiple sports about generating velocity without overloading the shoulder

    • Getting clear on what factors are universally present in the top arm swings and how to cultivate them

    TRAINING THE PHYSICAL FOUNDATION

    • Mobility and Control assessments for the spine, scapula, and shoulder

    • Specific exercises to improve spine and shoulder range of motion

    • Warm up routines to develop maximal torque through the torso

    • Stabilization work to create a bulletproof shoulder

    REBUILDING THE TECHNIQUE

    • Throwing mechanics from the ground up - learning how to develop rotational power using your entire body

    • Shoulder control work to learn how to relax the shoulder and arm to create a whip-like, elastic arm

    • Attacking training through situations of increasing complexity

    • Jump spin serve training

    • Extensive use of video analysis and feedback for each athlete

    POST-CAMP

    • 1 month of our Arm Swing Academy training program (a value of $49 USD on its own).

    • Weekly progressions through workouts to continue developing optimal mobility, control, strength, speed, and mechanics.

    • Chat support anytime you need it through the AWA App

  • Our youth specific camps aim to introduce young players to the type of attacking mechanics that will form the foundation for the rest of their volleyball career.

These camps stem from the same philosophy as everything we cover in camps for older athletes, but are more play based and less focused on video analysis and specific corrections.

With a strong focus on biomechanics and developing efficient ways to create a fast arm, athletes will leave our camp more confident than ever that they can serve and attack with consistency and speed.

  • Building on top of our Level 1 workshop, in Level 2 we focus less on the fundamental attacking pattern and more on the application to various attacking and serving scenarios.

We also start to develop more of the physical abilities for generating more power.

    TECHNICAL PROGRESSIONS:

    • Assessment of the "3 Keys" learned in Level 1 - Rotation, Looseness, Low Draw Back

    • Jump spin serve progressions

    • Hitting different angles without losing power

    • Adjusting approach and timing to maintain power

    • Attacking from all positions

    PHYSICAL PROGRESSIONS:

    • Drills to create more shoulder mobility

    • Training for shoulder control and stability in a variety of positions

    • Exercises to develop rotational power using the full body

    Post-Camp

    • 1 month of access to our Arm Swing Academy where you'll find workout programs designed to give you the tools and plan to learn how to hit the ball harder while away from the court.

    • Weekly progressions through workouts to continue developing optimal mobility, control, strength, speed, and mechanics.

    • Chat support anytime you need it through the AWA App

Helping athletes succeed is our passion. We know first hand that the foundation of an athlete’s well-being can be the key to a long-lasting volleyball career or its untimely end. We’ve been through this path ourselves as athletes, coaches, and trainers, and we started AWA because we see so many athletes and teams suffering and underperforming - simply because they haven’t been taught the necessary tools to thrive under the demands of high performance volleyball.
